The National Council of Women of Canada (NCWC) will host their 118th Annual General Meeting in Winnipeg at the Viscount Gort Hotel, June 2 to 5, 2011.
“An important focus of the NCWC meeting will be the launch of the common program for the next two years We will be focusing our efforts on women and mental health issues,” said Mary Scott current President of the NCWC.
“We remain very concerned about the impact of poverty, literacy, devalued role expectations, restricted decision-making, violence and sexual abuse on women’s mental health. By concentrating on these important issues we will consult with Canadian women, advise governments and advocate for changes that are necessary to strengthen the emotional well being of women individually and collectively in society.”
